Nike Contributes Apparel, Footwear and Cash for Storm Victims

Nike Donates $50,000 In Apparel and Footwear, $10,000 Cash to Food Bank

BEAVERTON, OR (December 10, 2007) -- Nike announced today that it is contributing $50,000 in apparel and footwear to help victims of the recent wind and rainstorm in the Northwest. The donation is being made through the Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross.

In addition, Nike announced a $10,000 cash contribution to the Oregon Food Bank for the purchase of food supplies for victims.

"The families impacted by the Pacific Northwest Floods are our friends and neighbors and we want to do what we can to help them through this very rough time," said Craig Cheek, Nike's Vice-President and General Manager for the US region.

"This generous contribution from Nike will provide much needed supplies for Oregonians who are just beginning to recover from the devastation they have experienced," said Thomas Bruner, CEO of the Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Nike has also recently lent assistance after to victims of the disastrous fires in Southern California. Further, Nike partners with Mercy Corps in supporting communities affected by natural disasters globally.
